|Being an Earth Ambassador is about making a simple, conscious decision to extend a hand of friendship towards sustainable life.|
|Earth Ambassadors is a dedicated living legacy to Nelson Mandela. This initiative embodies the spirit of Ubuntu. Earth Ambassadors is about working towards a sustainable way of life for all people. This website was created on South Africa’s day of reconciliation – Monday 16 December 2013. It’s time for change. It’s time to do things in a new way. In the space of just three years we intend to create a sustainable network that results in a self-funding platform in support of existing community and environmental initiatives… and have a whole lot of fun getting there.
|Between 2015 and 2017 the Earth Ambassador program embarks on a four-year journey that provides young South Africans a platform of interacting and networking with like-minded people around the globe in a series of unprecedented adventure opportunities and life experiences- see OBJECTIVES
Along the way there will be employment opportunities; expeditions; community outreach programs and environmental projects – You’re invited!
We will touch millions of people around the earth and motivate many of them to extend a hand of friendship to the youth of South Africa so that these young Earth Ambassadors will have the means and opportunity to perpetuate a living legacy of Nelson Mandela. We hope that as you read through these pages you too will be moved, that you to will become an Earth ambassador.
Engendering the spirit of Ubuntu and consciously making the decision to extend a helping hand to fellow man so that others can attain their personal potential is the first guiding parameter as an Earth Ambassador.
Ubuntu means ‘humanity to others’. It also means ‘I am what I am because of who we all are.
Nelson Mandela explained Ubuntu as follows:

the second guiding parameter for us as ambassadors of the earth is positive environmental consideration.
Our environment is made up of everything that surrounds us, the people, the animals, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, where we stay, our homes, land, light temperature and other living and non-living things. Living things do not simply exist in their environment. They constantly interact with it. The environment consists of the interactions among plants, animals, soil, water, temperature, light, and other living and non-living things.
Our decision making process is guided by what will create a better life for all the people of this country and the world as a whole.
“Poverty is not an accident. Like slavery and apartheid it is man-made and can be removed by the actions of human beings. Nelson Mandela
